CONCRETE TESTING EQUIPMENT

Gilson offers a robust line of concrete testing equipment and testing accessories that conform to ASTM, AASHTO, and other applicable standards. Our equipment spans across all phases of testing for strength, compliance, and consistency. From the placement of fresh concrete to lab curing and strength testing of concrete specimens to the non-destructive testing of hardened concrete, you’ll find the equipment you need, here. Our selection also includes fresh concrete tests for entrained air, slump, and maturity, as well as corrosion and strength.

  • Non-Destructive Testing equipment assesses hardened concrete in pavements and structures for strength, and durability and consistency. Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) units and reinforcing bar locators detect and measure characteristics of reinforcing steel and other embedments. Other instruments determine existing or potential corrosion of reinforcing bars or monitor the crack formation and movement in the structure.
  • Core Drilling and Sawing is an accepted method of sampling hardened concrete for compressive strength testing, petrographic analysis, and chemical tests. Gilson electric or gasoline-powered core drills and diamond coring bits extract cylindrical samples for testing. Masonry saws use premium diamond blades to cut samples to size in wet or dry conditions.

  • Concrete Mixers prepare concrete, asphalt, cement, and grout mix design samples for laboratory testing following ASTM/AASHTO standards. Rugged benchtop, portable, stationary, and concrete batch mixers are available to meet your needs.
  • Specimen Measurement instruments determine length, diameter, and circumference of concrete test specimens. Models include digital calipers with 6in or 12in (152 or 305mm) capacity and diameter measuring tapes in inch or metric units.
  • Fresh Concrete Testing equipment ensures that concrete is delivered as specified for high-quality pavements and structures. Equipment includes tools for measuring slump, air content, and unit weight of conventional concrete mixes. Passing ability of self-consolidating concrete equipment, accessories for consolidation, strike-off, temperature, sample handling, and initial set determinations.
  • Concrete Strength Testing equipment measures compressive or flexural strength of concrete to assure compliance with specifications. Equipment includes concrete compression machines and accessories, cylinder capping pads, end preparation apparatus, and capping compound, masonry block caps, and a portable concrete beam tester.
  • Cement Testing Equipment includes the Vicat apparatus, Gillmore needle apparatus, mortar penetrometers, and flow tables. Gilson offers Grout flow cones to determine consistency and set time. The Blaine air permeability and cement fineness apparatus to measure fineness. Mixers, trowels, ASTM test sands, and moist cabinets are used in sample preparation and curing of mix designs. Cube and prism molds form test specimens for strength and length change tests using length comparators and strain gauge sets. A grout prism capping stand prepares specimens for compressive strength testing. Grout windows allow in-place monitoring of block-filling operations.
  • Concrete Curing equipment ensures maximum strength development under the optimum temperature and moisture conditions required in ASTM/AASHTO specifications. Gilson curing equipment includes field curing boxes, water tanks, moist room controls, fogging fans, and other options for moisture and temperature regulation and monitoring of concrete samples. Solutions for safe transport and handling of field specimens are also available
  • Concrete Sample Molds in single-use plastic or reusable metal construction form cylindrical samples in popular sizes for compressive strength testing. Rugged, multi-use beam molds in various designs and sizes cast flexural strength samples that comply with ASTM and AASHTO requirements.
