Muffle Furnaces are used for high-temperature testing applications such as loss-on-ignition or ashing. Muffle Furnaces are compact countertop heating sources with insulated firebrick walls to maintain high temperatures.
The laboratory muffle furnaces offer a range of features including, rugged construction, programmable controllers, and a safety switch that turns off power when the door opens. Gilson's Muffle Furnaces have chamber capacities from 0.04 to 3.38ft³ (1.3 to 95.7L), with maximum temperatures ranging from 2,000 to 2,350°F (1,093 to 1,287°C). Crucible Tongs, Heat-Resistant Gloves, and Porcelain Crucibles for test specimens are available separately.
