Search Heads for Elcometer 331 Series Concrete Cover Meters determine the depth of cover over reinforcement bars. The Standard Search Head meets most cover depth measurement requirements. The Narrow-Pitch Search Head is ideal when the gaps (pitch) between rebar are close together. For cover thickness measurements when rebar is deep within the structure, the Deep Cover Search Head is most accurate.

RLA-8 Standard Search Head has a sensing area of 4.72 x 2.36in (120 x 60mm). Range for 1.6in (40mm) bar is 0.6–3.75in (15–95mm). Range for 0.3in (8mm) bar is 0.3–2.75in (8–70mm).

RLA-10 Narrow-Pitch Search Head also has a sensing area of 4.72 x 2.36in (120 x 60mm). Range for 1.6in (40mm) bar is 0.3–3.1in (8–80mm). Range for 0.3in (8mm) bar is 0.2–2.4in (5–60mm).

RLA-12 Deep Cover Search Head has a sensing area of 6.3 x 3.15in (160 x 80mm). Range for 1.6in (40mm) bar is 1.4–7in (35–180mm). Range for 0.3in (8mm) bar is 1–6.3in (25–160mm).

Features:

  • Easy single-handed use
  • Search Head model variations allows accurate detection at varying depths and bar pitch
  • High level of accuracy

Included Items:

  • Search Head (Standard, Narrow Pitch, or Deep Cover)

Product Q&A

Specimens longer than 5in are extracted by repositioning the Adapter Ring after maximum piston travel, and the spring-loaded piston automatically returns to the start position when the release valve is opened.
